Tamansari or Water Castle was build by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono I in 1758 as a rest house and pleasure park for the Royal family. Tamansari means beautiful garden. Its located on Jl. Ngasem Yogyakarta, Indonesia, less than 1 Km west of Kraton. Everybody in this town knows where Tamansari is.

Mount Merapi (Gunung Merapi, 2911m) Approximately 30 kilometre, on the side North the Yogyakarta city. The crater of the volcano is a sandy plateau of about four hectares with several smaller craters, which are still active. Several of its eruptions have caused fatalities. It was erupting from 1992 to 2002, and a particularly large explosion killed 43 people in 1994.

Kraton Yogyakarta Batik Museum was inaugurated by Sri Sultan HB X on October 31, 2005. The museum occupies one of the buildings in the compound Kraton Yogyakarta. In the museum collections are stored various batik cloth batik to equipment from the HB HB VIII to X. The Sultan’s Palace, or Kraton, with its grand and elegant Javanese architecture, lay in the center of the city.
